Understanding What It Takes To Become a TX Real Estate Agent

If you are looking into becoming a real estate agent then you have to make sure that you are completely aware of the requirements to obtain your real estate license. Making sure that you are working with a state-approved Real Estate School is the first step. No one in the state of Texas is allowed to sell homes without that license and the proper schooling to back him or her up. Just to be able to apply for the license, a person has to be at least eighteen years of age, a legal resident of Texas and citizen or legal alien of the United States.

Even though you may think you are ready to go, it is important to know that there are certain educational requirements that are required to be completed before you can move forward. You must be able to provide transcripts that will show you have completed 60 classroom hours of the Principles of Real Estate, 30 classroom hours of Law of Agency, 30 classroom hours of Law of Contracts, 30 classroom hours on an additional real estate core course, and another 60 classroom hours in another semester in core or related courses.

There are a couple of fees that come to a total of $104.50 that must be paid in the form of a money order along with the application for the Texas license to sell real estate. It is important to keep in mind that such fees are nonrefundable so once you send that money in; it is the property of the Texas Real Estate Commission.

Once you have everything ready to go you can send in your completed application along with all of the documents required and you will be on your way to selling homes in no time at all.
